Kelly Bensimon had a rocky journey on The Real Housewives of New York City. From real estate to novels, here’s what Kelly has been up to since RHONY.
Kelly Bensimon remains one of the most controversial stars in the history of The Real Housewives of New York, and we have everything Kelly has been up to since her exit from the Bravo show. From her feud with Skinnygirl Forever Young Wine owner Bethenny Frankel to her burgeoning career in real estate, Kelly has kept her life flavorful on and off of reality television. A businesswoman, mother, and on-and-off girlfriend, here’s everything to know about the multifaceted Kelly since her departure from Scary Island.
Kelly entered the Bravo universe on the second season of RHONY in 2009. Although she got off to a good start with fellow castmates like Luann de Lesseps and Jill Zarin, Kelly’s friendship with Bethenny was a non-starter. From Bethenny mockingly calling Kelly “Madonna” to Kelly demonstrating the Skinnygirl mogul’s worth being less than hers with hand gestures, these two housewives never saw eye-to-eye. Kelly’s most memorable moment on RHONY arrived on season 3 during the cast’s vacation to the Virgin Islands, aka Scary Island, where Kelly became overwhelmed with paranoia that Bethenny was out to get her. Come season 4, the recently engaged Bethenny Frankel had left RHONY, and Kelly was afforded a dozen episodes of peace before she was fired by Bravo along with Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, and Cindy Barshop.

Although she had no choice in leaving The Real Housewives of New York, Kelly remained friendly with some members of the cast and even made cameos on the series since her exit. Kelly has returned to the reality show for brief appearances on seasons 6 and 7, much to Bethenny’s chagrin. Since her final bow from Bravo, the former reality TV star has recently branched out into several career paths. Most notably, Kelly has found success as a real estate agent in New York City, the Hamptons, and Florida. As a realtor, Kelly has made hoards of money. According to New York Post, Kelly sold $50 million of property in 2021 alone making, her stiff competition for Bethenny’s Million Dollar Listing realtor Fredrik Eklund. Aside from real estate, Kelly has written six books, including I Can Make You Hot!: The Supermodel Diet and A Dangerous Age.
Kelly has also kept her personality accessible to her fans through multiple mediums. One of which is her blog, KKBLOVES, where Kelly shares updates on her personal life and business ventures. On top of her blog, Kelly also runs a podcast title, Hey Guys, Hey, in which the RHONY alum interviews interesting personalities like Bobbi Brown and Nick Wooster. Beyond her blossoming career, Kelly is also managing her personal life. Kelly supports her children as her 23-year-old daughter Sea attends the University of Mississippi, and her 21-year-old daughter Teddy studies at Trinity College. Kelly has also been invested in a tumultuous romantic relationship with her on-again-off-again entrepreneur boyfriend, Nick Stefanov. Kelly’s social media is a useful outlet for fans desperate to stay in the loop. Although she’s not among the most followed RHONY housewives on Instagram, Kelly does well for herself with 360,000 followers.
As hectic as Kelly’s journey on reality television was, it appears she has settled since the torment of Scary Island and diet alcohol brand owners. From her lucrative career in real estate to her relationship with her children and part-time boyfriend, Kelly seems to have figured it all out. Although fans might hope Kelly returns to The Real Housewives of New York, it’s likely best that the alum keeps her reality TV career in the past.
